Performance
The following is the performance of each payload package.
Micro Beacon – Intermittent
transmitter caused distortion in APRS signal and loss of tracking.
ATV -
Operation nominal. Excellent reception and video recording obtained
at ground station.
Payload Computer –
Operation
nominal. Received a number of contacts including a 302 mile contact
from Wayne, KD5MQE in Deming, NM.
Cut Down – Broken
wire prevented operation.
Lessons
Learned
Micro
Beacon's intermittent
transmitter caused distortion in APRS signal and loss of tracking.
Solution – Replace Alinco radio with custom UHF
transmitter capable of -55° C to ° C operation.
Numerous broken cable between Payload Computer and ATV and cut down
packages.
Solution – Replace with wireless RF link or infra red
link.
