Repeater

A typical ANSR flight includes a cross band voice repeater.  Stations that are in view of the balloon during a flight are encouraged to check in as well as make contacts with other distance stations.  Because of the distance above the terrain, long range contacts are possible using line of sight VHF and UHF frequencies.

Shown below, is the repeater coverage of the balloon at 50K and 100K as launched from the Phoenix, AZ area.  The area high lighted in red is the expected coverage.
